3A state football: Elizabeth wins first gridiron title with undefeated season
Elizabeth football has done it. And in a convincing fashion no less. Elizabeth High School football, as the No. 1 seed in the Class 3A state championship playoffs, made its was to the finals Dec. 3 at Legacy Stadium in Aurora to face Glenwood Springs. There, the Cardinals convincing put a cap on their undefeated season with the 3A bragging rights with a 29-6 finish over the Demons.

Run to the Sun is an Anchorage business for woman’s clothing and also tanning. They had a fashion show at the Woman’s Show in Anchorage, Alaska in April 2010. The show is pretty good but the lighting at the Sullivan Arena is absolutely horrible – like something out of a bomb shelter. Hopefully these photos aren’t too bad. I met several of the models and shot with them at separate photo shoots – but it will take some time to post those photos.

Regardless of size, you will need to be fit and toned. Focus on cardiovascular fitness and core training to improve posture and body fat/muscle ratio. Pilates is a wonderful exercise for elongating muscles and promoting tone. Excessive weight-training can be counter productive, focus on flexibility, cardio and body-weight resistance training. When in doubt, consider employing the services of a personal trainer making sure to express losing excessive weight is not your goal.
With the explosion of the industry, the role of the plus size model is ever increasing and shifting. Remember to speak up. With the majority of American women wearing a size 12 or larger, expressing the need for diversity may be just the key to landing spots previously unseen in local runway shows and magazine editorials. I shot the other photos yesterday, but I found some fantastic light just outside my store today while I was checking things over prior to logging off the Grid.
Look at the detail on this hair! There’s so much stuff in here, this hair definitely isn’t possible in Real Life; your neck would snap in an instant. Rebar in hairstyles? Works for this one, in a wild way. You can also see the claw and the little bauble hanging off a couple of the rods, and the two black feathers just over my temple.
Don’t you just love the retro style? Even up to these days, people of the seventies reminisce about those days where they wear baggy and flare pants to the discos. Some women wear colorful clothes matching with their hippie look with the hippie band. Some men even wear flare pants with their colorful long-sleeved polo with a huge collar. You probably miss those days and want to bring back some of the trends before. If you do, why not start the trend and start it with your hair? I was recently invited by my buddy, fashion photographer extraordinaire Jeremiah Wilson, to visit one his fashion shoots. He was shooting a campaign for Steve Madden shoes at Poly Prep in Brooklyn. I went down to pay Jeremiah a visit, and decided to shoot some photos of my own, and interview Jeremiah for one the publications I write for. I thought a ‘behind the scenes’ of a fashion shoot piece would be interesting to work on, and it turned out that way. I had a blast doing both. Some of mt photos came out great, but I was cheating. Street fashion is not an uncommon term for any of us. It is also known as “LA Street Style”. The term is mainly associated with youth culture and it mainly comes from urban centers. It is not only the young generation who has made its own new styles but the big brands also took on the Hip-Hop fashion which contributed to its ongoing popularity. Leather bomber jackets, sneakers, Dr. Marten’s boots etc dominated the fashion world of 1980s.
Hip-Hop fashion dresses were different for men and women. While blousy pants, baggy jeans, heavy work boots and sunglasses were the favorite of the men, women preferred tight jeans and light make up. But many of the women adapted the men’s style adding a feminine touch to it.
The latest fashion trends were not only witnessed in clothing but also in accessories. Large eyeglasses, multiple rings, heavy jewelry, oversized name tags signified the Hip-Hop culture. In the 80s African culture was reflected in the new hairstyle as well as jewelry. Dreadlocks and African chains became very popular.
Towards the beginning of the 90s neon clothing, rolled in, baseball caps etc started dominating the fashion market. Red, black and green were the color for the Hip-Hop fashion. Wearing clothing backwards became one of the hottest fashion trends.
Just as clothing fashion shoes were made popular by many sports brands. Both clothing and shoes were worn by famous models which gave the new trends an additional dimension. Black leather jackets with gold or silver chains were the favorite of the youth.
Late 90s witnessed a significant shift in the Hip-Hop fashion. Fashion style of the gangsters and street thugs were incorporated in the mainstream fashion trends. Oversized still dominated the fashion scene, whether cargo or denim. Wearing pants without belts was a common practice.
Hip-Hop became most popular of all street trends with its unique dressing style, exclusive accessories and shoes and stunning hair style.

Cracked heels and chipped toenails

It takes very little money, effort or time to fill a bucket with warm water and salts, grab a nail file and pumice stone, and finish it at home pedicure with a foot massage using Vaseline or lotion, apply 2 coats of clear nail polish, and you’re done in about a half hour.

How the ‘trend’ started it’s unsure, but how is it possible to wear colored shades at night and be able to see anything?
Wrong accessories
If the outfit is cheap or plain even that can make you stand out in a crowd with the right fashion accessories. Necklaces which are of the right length are stylish, and even more so when paired with matching bangles. For example, the shorter the chain, the larger your neck will appear. If you wear so many bangles that your arm is no longer visible, remove a few; wearing some bangles on one hand is enough. Wearing so many of a good thing can quickly turn your outfit into a fashion ‘no- no’. If you’re wearing huge earrings, what I like to call door knockers, skip the necklace. Handbags and purses are also pieces to completing an outfit, but for evening wear, use a shiny, stylish purse rather than a slouchy, oversized bag. Save that huge bag for schoolbooks, your laptop, or when you travel.
Makeup
During carnival, excess applying makeup is certainly an exception, but throughout the rest of the year, it is inappropriate to apply three to four shades of eye shadow with 5 inch fake eye lashes, unless you are a professional clown. It is certainly not the right look for the office. There are numerous modeling websites that offer tutorials on applying eye makeup such as my favorite, The Queen of Blending. Save the sparkle and bright hues for Carnival Tuesday or Friday night at Zen. Try mineral powders that are hypoallergenic and healthy for your skin, rather than makeup bases that stop up your pores.
Turtlenecks
Even if the air conditioning in your office is frosty, turtlenecks are just not fashionable. You can choose options to keep you warm in the office such as a classy cardigan, a huge shawl, or a business jacket. If you wear a turtleneck it will only hide your neck. It does nothing for your figure, and just looks funny.
In short, the general fashion rule is less is more. Just because something is in fashion style it doesn’t mean you have to purchase every fashion trend that is current or that is on display on the mannequins. It’s important to be honest about your body type, and purchase clothes, shoes and accessories that match your skin tone, frame, and budget. You have to choose wisely.
